There is a clear distinction between Governance and Management.
“Governance” is determining and stating the mission, vision and values, working out how to achieve them, empowering the management to implement and monitoring the performance of the organisation.
“Management” is “doing the jobs”, whether by salaried ministry staff or volunteers.
Our Leadership Groups
We have two clearly defined leadership groups: the Board of Elders; and the Ministry Team. They have separate but complementary roles.
❶ The Board of Elders have primary responsibility to establish the mission of the church and monitor its accomplishment.
❷ The Ministry Team Leader’s primary responsibility is, along with the other members of the ministry team, to accomplish the mission of the church.
The ministry or mission of the church is conducted by various ministry teams whose leaders are accountable to the Ministry Team Leader, who is accountable to the Elders. The Board of Elders is accountable to the church. Spiritual oversight of the church is maintained by the Ministry Team Leader and the elders. They are responsible for the vision and strategic direction of the church.
The Elders have adopted a Governance Model based on Policies. Such policies guide both the Elders and the Ministry Team Leader in their respective roles, responsibilities, boundaries, relationships, church mission, outcomes, expectations, to name a few. The Board of Elders is committed to being transparent and accordingly the current Board Policies may be viewed on our Church Documents page.
The Church has formally adopted some basic principles that govern the management or operation of some aspects of the church. These are contained within a document called The Functional Principles and may be found on our Church Documents page.

Meetings & Reports
Meetings where the church endorses or votes on major issues, elder recommendations and leadership appointments are held whenever necessary. Full reports on all ministry activities and audited financial statements are presented to the church at each Annual General Meeting. Some recent AGM reports can be found on the Church Documents page. Information meetings are held periodically.
