Women

Just for Women

The goals of Women’s Ministry are to encourage and support the women of the church, and to have an outreach into our community through our friends and neighbours. With this in mind, four differing main events are planned for the year incorporating various themes and guest speakers or artists. For further information, please phone Gayle on 0418220857.

Coffee Groups

We also have seven Coffee Groups that meet monthly. There are opportunities to have coffee with friends every week day morning and one group that meets on Monday evenings for those women who may be working, or who find that evenings suit them or their family better.

1st Monday of the month 9.30am at Myrtle’s Pantry, Parklands Blvd, Little Mountain
Last Monday of the month 7pm at Golden Beach Tavern, Bowman Road, Caloundra
2nd Tuesday of the month 9.30 am at Go Gourmet, Pierce Avenue, Little Mountain
1st Wednesday of the month 10am at the Power Boat Club, Golden Beach
1st Thursday of the month 10am at various venues, Birtinya, Maroochydore
2nd Thursday of the month 10am at My Beach Spot, Gemini Resort, Golden Beach
Last Friday of the month 10am at La Promenade Café, Bulcock Beach

Information about these groups is available from the Church office on 5491 7778, or by email at admin@caloundrachurchofchrist.org.au.

Care to Quilt

Women who are creative are catered for at the Quilting Group who meet fortnightly on Fridays at the church. You don’t need to be able to quilt to join this group. There are other facets to making the quilts where help and support are needed, such as hand stitching or pinning. These quilts are donated to children who have been placed into Foster Care. The quilt remains the property of each child for the remainder of their life. For further information, please phone Norma on 5491 7224.

Social Support

Our Women’s Ministry also supports homeless women with hygiene packs. Small toiletries are donated and then placed into hand sewn draw string bags for distribution to the homeless. Others give friendship to women at the affordable housing complex at Cooma Terrace. This can take different forms including offering some pampering, attending the monthly luncheons, or just being available to chat or assist on a one to one level.

Bible Study

Two Bible Study groups, specifically for women, are held weekly. The KYB (Know Your Bible) study material is used where a deeper understanding of the Bible and its truths is gained. One group meets on Tuesdays at 9.30am (contact Joyce on 5491 9423) and the second group meets on Friday at 9.30am (contact Valerie on 0412768395).
