Equipping people to LOVE deeply, LIVE passionately, and SERVE willingly.

What to Expect

It is not easy to visit a new church for the first time, so we want to be as helpful as we can and make your experience a memorable one.

Here are some pointers so that you won’t feel awkward, and can concentrate on what God might be saying to you during the service. You may also like to explore our location page to familiarize yourself with where we are and how to get there.

Sunday Services

Our Sunday morning services at 7.45am and 9.30am are similar in format.

All of our services are designed to give you an opportunity to connect with God in a meaningful way. Our praise and worship is based on a biblical pattern and is not very formal, nor is about religious liturgy. We sincerely seek to meet God; to honour His presence, to better understand and obey His Word, and to know Him on a personal basis. We trust the praise and worship strengthens your relationship with the Lord. We strive to effectively teach the Word of God as we want you to know what the Bible teaches and how to apply Biblical truths to your daily life.

We exalt one Saviour, Jesus Christ; we proclaim one message – His Gospel; and our purpose is to demonstrate His love to our world and introduce others to Jesus. We desire our Sunday worship services to pull our attentions and affections away from artificial objects of worship – money, careers, relationships, approval, power, and control, among other things – and set our hearts on God. We have a participatory style of worship, which is a careful blend of old and new. Our worship strives to be uplifting and majestic, yet warm and personal.

Which Service is best for me?

If you have children, you may find the 9.30am service more suitable because “Sunday Kids” is conducted during school terms at the same time and caters for children aged 3 – Grade 5. In addition, older children in Grades 6 to 9 have a bible study, and a crèche operates for children under 3.

7.45am Sunday Morning

07-45-clockThe 7.45am service meets in the Worship Centre and lasts for about an hour. A Child Care Lounge is available for parents with young children under 5. [A creche is available at the 9.30am service].

If you have children you may want to consider the 9.30am service (see below) as during school terms, “Sunday Kids” meets at the same time in the adjacent Family Centre building. More information about Sunday Kids and what happens when it’s in recess during school holidays is found on our Children & Youth page.

On your arrival
When you arrive you may be shown where to park by one of our parking attendants. Then you will be met at the door by a person who will greet you and give you a copy of our church newsletter for that week. There’s a section that you can fill in and tear off on pages 7 & 8 of the newsletter if you’d like us to make contact with you or pray for a particular concern of yours. It can be placed in the offering bags later in the service, or handed in at the Information Desk in the foyer after the service.

During the service
A Worship Leader guides the church throughout the service, and will announce songs and provide any necessary instructions. The words of the songs and the text of any Bible reading are projected onto a large screen at the front of the building.

This is a personal time for you and God to communicate. We have a live worship band with upbeat praise and worship as well as providing for more intimate songs of worship. People worships in their own unique way – for many, that means singing & clapping, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. You’re welcome to worship in a manner that you are comfortable with.

Communion
art-communion_handsEach week, we celebrate communion or the Lord’s supper together. Communion is a special time for Christians. We typically use a biscuit wafer and grape juice as the emblems of Jesus’ body and blood that was given for our forgiveness. As we recall his suffering, death, and resurrection, we recommit ourselves to following him. Anyone who has responded to Jesus as expressed in the Scriptures, is welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper, otherwise just pass the tray to the next person. Communion is served to your seat by ushers. Eat the biscuit and drink from the cup in your own time. Learn more about Communion on Our Ordinances page.

The offering or collection
Each week we worship God with our tithes, gifts and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This is an act of worship for our regular people, allowing them to thank God for all of his provisions and the great work he is doing in their lives. It also gives the church the means to reach more people for Christ both locally and abroad. The offerings are collected by the ushers in a bag that is passed along each row of seats.

The sermon or message
Each week, a pastor presents a relevant, straightforward message that is Bible based and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life. Sometimes the sermons are given as a series over a number of weeks. You can watch or listen to our sermons or catch up if you missed part of a series by visiting our Sermons page.

We provide anyone the opportunity to personally respond to God’s call, to ask for help and prayer, or to enquire further about the christian faith.

After the service
Stay awhile and chat with some of our people. This is a great opportunity to get to know us and ask any questions you may have. There is also the opportunity to meet others coming for the 9.30am service.

9.30am Sunday Morning

09-30-clockThe 9.30 service meets in the Worship Centre and generally lasts for a little over an hour.

During school terms, this service is best suited for families with school children as a “Sunday Kids” programme meets at the same time in another building. The registration desk for Sunday Kids is adjacent to the front doors of the Worship Centre. Please ask one of the greeting team for any assistance. Of course, you can choose to have your children sit with you throughout the service if you wish. More information about Sunday Kids and what happens when it’s in recess during school holidays is found on our Children & Youth page.

A Child Care Lounge and crèche are also available.

After this service, feel free to stay and grab a cool drink or a cup of tea or coffee and chat with some of our people. This is a great opportunity to get to know us and ask any questions you may have. This is served in an adjacent undercover annex.

We have a special Welcome Morning Tea from time to time for visitors and newcomers where there is a relaxed opportunity to discover more about the church, meet ministry staff, elders and others and to ask questions. This is held separately in the Church foyer at 11.00am.
